Trade & Storage

Is trade automatic?

Yes. Surplus above your storage target is exported by itself, and missing inputs are imported from the market automatically. You steer from the strategic levers: storage targets, import limits, bans and tariffs.

What is the storage target for?

For each good you set a target stock (default: 90 days of production). Anything above the target is exported; ∞ = always store, ⊘ = never store, sell immediately. If the warehouse fills and there is no export, production stops — build a Warehouse Complex.

Why can't I buy a certain good?

Strategic goods like oil, chips and rare earths cannot be bought on the world market — only through bilateral trade with countries. Countries with bad relations (below −0.3) embargo you. Stay friendly with resource owners or build your own production.

Why do some countries sell to me at a markup?

If a bloc you don't belong to runs a quota on that good, it sells outside at a markup — and if an embargo resolution passed, it won't sell at all. Joining the bloc, finding another supplier or producing it yourself brings the price down.

Why do prices change?

World supply and demand drift prices daily: goods everyone produces get cheaper, scarce goods get pricier. Check the ▲/▼ multiplier badge on the product page — buy-cheap, sell-dear opportunities appear.
